Around 4 p.m Sam and her friends had the brilliant idea to add something new onto their grill: her pet ducks.
“Hi, Juanita, how you doing?” said Paridas, handing the duck a few shreds of lettuce in a manner than proved the two were best friends and that Juanita was hardly anything but a domesticated pet duck.
Things got off to a rocky start when the folks at Bello Gardens circulated an online petition saying WildCare “refused to return” the duck to the seniors, for whom “not having Juanita to sit by is a huge loss.”

With the Easter holiday approaching, baby ducklings often find their way into gift baskets, but with some forethought, knowledge, and planning these little darlings can become treasured members of the family. Here is some useful information for those who might be considering a duck as a pet. Ducks are wonderfully hardy, inexpensive, and easy to care for. They can live up to 20 years and make gentle and amusing pets. However, before choosing a duck as a pet, there are several important points to remember: If you are considering a duck as a household (indoor exotic) pet, please do your homework and ensure it is the right choice for you. Ducks can live a long time and deserve a happy, healthy home for the duration. As with all pets, remember to contact your veterinarian when you have questions and to schedule checkups on a regular basis to keep your pet healthy and happy.1. Please DO NOT keep a duck as a “house” pet. They are NOT suited to an indoor lifestyle. Although it may make you happy to keep your duck indoors, understand that you are being cruel to the duck, as they need to live outdoors. She was seen walking them on leashes around campus multiple times and treated them as good as a person could. Well, she did until she fried them up at a party. Now on to the story. Sam was the proud owner of two little ducks named Goose and Maverick she bought from a pet shop in Morgantown called Animal House. This pet shop is well-known to students for renting out ducks for a week or two.Students and faculty all over WVU's campus have been up in arms over the duck murders and there is no end in sight. People have posted endless Facebook rants about it, and some students even took it as far as to report her to PETA and the university itself.
