5 Best "Starter Pets" for Kids - Mercola Healthy Pets - Dr. Mercola
This starter pet station is the best you can buy for that kind of money!
One of the most gorgeous and long-lived species (at least in my opinion) is also one of the best starter tarantulas. With its fiery red/yellow/orange leg markings set against the dark brown/black base color, this is one awesome showcase animal. The B. smithi is also known to mature into a calm, even-tempered adult, which makes it a wonderful starter tarantula. With an estimated life-expectancy of 40-plus years for females, you will also have decades with your new pet.
For Apartment Communities: Open areas and parks are man’s best friend’s favorite place. Start by installing one pet waste station every 160 yards within the area. If the area is visited by a large volume of dogs a good way to estimate your need is to place a pet waste station for every 50 dogs that drop by. (So if you expect about 100 dogs to visit the area you need two stations). Don’t forget – placing stations throughout your property is crucial; make it easy for residents to clean up after their pets. Putting stations near the mailboxes, pool, and parking spaces are all good areas. Everyone loves their dog, but no one loves dog poop.

However, some fish are hardier than others. The best fish for toddlers are inexpensive, durable fish, such as goldfish. You don't want floaters to start off your child's pet career.Leveling your first pet battle team in World of Warcraft? I recommend three battle pets to level first when getting started in pet battles. I also include alternatives and talk about how to choose the best pets to start out of the pets you have when your options (and funds!) are limited. Read through the rest of this video description for more detailed info on leveling your first team!
These pets were chosen for their usefulness in beating common pets and tamer NPCS, as well as how good they are for catching up lower level pets. They will not have access to all of their moves at level 1, so not all the utility I talk about on the different pets will be ready right away. That's OK! At low levels, all you need to do is beat a few low-quality wild pets for your first few levels, then either embark on a Pokemon-style Tamer Journey (beating the Tamer NPC's of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms while catching wild pets and grinding wild fights in between) or attempt the challenge of skipping the low levels by catching higher-level wild pets.
My powerlevel-from-scratch strategy (found here ) involves getting your first couple of levels on a Mechanical battle pet (the Pandaren Dragonling is perfect for this), then capturing wild Arcane Eyes at level 17ish around Karazhan. Take your Arcane Eyes to the Wyrmrest Temple and use them to catch some Dragonbone Hatchlings (level 20 ish), which you can take to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms to catch some Aqua Striders (level 25ish). You'll still want to beat the world Tamer NPC's for the Taming the World achievement and Safari Hat, so beating low level tamers when you see them is always a good idea. Tamer battles always give you stronger XP than wild fights!
Once you have a few pets (the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling in particular) at level 25, you can start using tamer fights such as Ashlei () to quickly skip new pets past early levels. Target the pets you'll need for more 2-pet strategies so you can level more pets, and you'll snowball your way into a healthy collection with a good spread of damage types and counters. Happy pet battling!
