What to expect when you have your pet implanted with a microchip at Arrowhead Animal Hospital, P.C.:
It is the policy here at Arrowhead Animal Hospital, P.C. for each patient that will be having a surgical procedure to be checked-in by one of our veterinarians. This is important to make sure your pet is in a condition that they can tolerate the anesthesia that will be administered. We recommend bloodwork to be performed to ensure your pet’s organs can assimilate the anesthetic gas properly. Each patient will be monitored while under anesthesia for proper heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature. IV fluids will be administered as directed by the veterinarian to maintain adequate blood pressure during the procedure. Upon discharge, the veterinarian will go over how the procedure went.
