In Alachua County as we enter the spring and summer seasons we experience a massive uptick in the number of cats and kittens entering our shelters. As hundreds of kittens flood into animal services local rescues, such as Haile's Angels, do what we can often taking in pregnant mothers, nursing or bottle-fed kittens and young cats. These souls are in addition to the cats already entering the system every day.

In addition, we work to educate the general public on responsible animal ownership and care. We also sponsor a yearly Rabies Clinic in cooperation with local vets. Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.Pet Rescue has been helping abandoned animals and finding homes for them since 1982. We are particular about finding the right match between people and pets. We take in only as many as we can properly take care of and don't kill any. We take care of them in our homes and foster homes. Many of our adoptions are from home to home which entails as little displacement and stress for the dog or cat as possible. If we don't have an appropriate pet for a specific need, we refer the request to other rescue groups. The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
