The Amarillo SPCA is teaming up with PetSmart for their National Adoption Event. The adoption event will take place at PetSmart, 2800 Soncy.

During this National Adoption Weekend the cost to adopt a pet from the Amarillo SPCA will be reduced. Adoptions will be $85. Adoption fee includes, sterilization, rabies vaccination, micro-chipping and up to date shots.

We now have adoptions at Gebo's on I-27 in Amarillo on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00. Please stop by and check out the wonderful pets available!Are you thinking about adopting but want to make sure the pet fits in well with your family? Please consider our foster to adopt program. If you live in the Amarillo area, we will allow you to take adult animals for a week to decide if they are the right pet for you. If everything works out, we can start the adoption process so you can take your new friend home permanently!Texas Panhandle Pet Savers, Inc is a non-profit dog and cat rescue group with a mission to decrease the number of pets put down in the Amarillo area by raising awareness of adoptable pets and providing resources and programs to successfully place them in permanent homes.The Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society facilitates pet adoptions. Executive Director Andrea Soliz said adopted kittens or puppies can be taken home immediately. Texas law requires sterilization for those animals.Dogs and cats are available for adoption at our shelter Tuesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. The Amarillo SPCA also has dogs available at PetSmart every Saturday from 1-5 pm. Cats are available at PetSmart during all business hours.To search for a lost pet, or to put a hold on a pet that has been impounded, visit the Animal Control Department’s website at . The Amarillo Animal Control Shelter, located at 3501 S. Osage, is open from Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for anyone who would like to visit the facility to search for a lost pet or adopt a new one.
