Advantages of Having a Professional Pet Sitter. Your pet remains in the comfort of home without the stress and risk of illness from contact with other pets.
As of four days ago I am officially an uncle, its great. Working at a shelter i've heard hundreds of expecting parents tell us "We can't keep our dog, were having a baby." It's so awful to hear how easily some people could get rid of a pet. While working at the shelter I've read numerous articles from the ASPCA to Cesar Millan, to the New York Times, all stating that pets are actually very advantageous to new borns.

For dogs 21 lbs or over apply the contents of one tube to 3 or 4 spots along the skin on back from the shoulder to the tail. Do not get this product in the pet's eyes or mouth.Mature dogs and cats have many advantages when compared to their younger counterparts, yet are often the first to face death or permanent homelessness. Simply put, most adopters overlook older pets in favor of puppies and kittens.Advantage II is for external use on dogs and puppies 3 lbs or more and 7 weeks or older, cats and kittens 2 lbs or more and 8 weeks or older, or ferrets weighing 1 lb or over and 10 weeks of age or older. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated pets, if the pet is being given this product along with other pesticides, and debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing pets. This product causes eye irritation in humans and is harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin. Call poison control center if swallowed. If on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. If in eyes, flush with plenty of water. In conclusion, I think that pets can be very helpful. Animals are very usefull around a house, especially, when you are at home alone alot. I personaly would say the advantages outwiegh the disadvantages, so maybe you should try getting a pet of your own.
