The counselors will help you find your perfect new family member, based on your lifestyle and the size, age, breed and temperament of a pet which will most successfully meet your expectations.
Adoption Fees: When you adopt a pet from the Connecticut Humane Society you are not only providing your new best friend with a forever home; your adoption fee will help pay for a portion of the medical, behavioral and shelter care your pet received at CHS.

To adopt a pet you must fill out an application and be approved. Home ownership or landlord approval required. All members in a household must meet the pet and agree to the adoption. The fee is $5.00 to adopt pets. Most of these animals have been spayed/neutered, tested for disease and vaccinated. These services have been paid for by donations and additional donations to help off-set these costs are appreciated. All other pets will be adopted through the State of Connecticut Animal Population Control Program. The fee is $50.00 and this entitles the adopter to 2 free vaccines, and a discount voucher off the cost of spay/neuter. In general, the price for the balance of the spay/neuter ranges from $100-200 and is due upon receipt of the animal at the veterinarian office. There is an additional $10.00 fee for microchipping.Companion Pet Rescue & Transport (CPR) was founded in 2004 and rescues over 2,500 dogs per year thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers! CPR is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We have an adoption center in Southbury CT, as well as weekly events, and if your heart is set on a specific pup that has not yet arrived at our adoption center, you can pick up directly from our amazing transport!
